McGregor returns to the Octagon! UFC 246 was an important fight card simply because of McGregor’s long awaited return to the octagon. McGregor was set to face off against ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone on Jan. 18, 2020 for a welterweight bout. Cerrone is considered a pioneer in the MMA sport because he has the most wins and most fights, respectfully. The fight was scheduled to be in Las Vegas, Nevada in the T-Mobile arena. Cowboy has more fights in MMA than McGregor but McGregor still has experience.

The fight, though very much anticipated, was one-sided for the whole 40 seconds. Mc managed to throw 27 punches and land 20 of them. He also countered Cowboy’s missed head-kick with his own head-kick that wobbled Cowboy. Cowboy managed to get one punch out but he missed. As McGregor knocked his opponent to the floor, he proceeded to throw numerous punches to the body and head of Cowboy before the fight was ruled a TKO by the referee. I enjoyed the fight because of the fighters, but I was also very conscious that the fight would not last long because of McGregor’s fighting style. Cowboy was in it for the long run while Conor went on a full on sprint, and won in 40 seconds because of it. I liked the fight, unlike others, because I knew it wouldn’t last long. I would give the fight a 5 out of 5 because I knew what would happen but still exceeded expectations.
