Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse
January 23, 2019
The new animated Spider-Man movie was released on December 14, 2018 and explores the origin story of fourteen-year-old Miles Morales. This is a new, refreshing adaptation of the Spider-Man character that we have not seen on the big screen before, considering that the three previous Spider-Man series starred Peter Parker as the main character. The character Miles Morales opens opens up a new world to new characters, villains, and stories to tell.
The movie includes a variety of villains, some who have not been introduced in movies before, characters such as Hammerhead and Prowler. The main villain is Kingpin who is a gargantuan and ignorant man who doesn’t care what the consequences are to his evil plan. The consequences of Kingpin’s plan brings together many different Spider-Men from different universes ultimately colliding in the universe of Miles Morales. The movie writers force the collection of Spider-men/women to come together to save the universe in order to return home to their respective worlds.
The movie includes an interesting plot that keeps the audience on the edge of their seat, filled with humor, and filmed in a style as if it was taken straight out of a comic book. The variety of colors make scenes more enjoyable than regular animated, or live action movies. The animation is beyond gorgeous making it look 3D. The movie won two nominations. One by Producers Guild of America Award for Best Animated Theatrical Film, and the second nomination came from the 91st Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature.
The movie has was also been well received by critics, receiving a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 8.7/10 on IMDb. Overall I would recommend this movie to anyone who is interested in a good movie plot, and enjoys action. I would give this movie a 4.5 stars out of 5.
