A Milestone for Phoenix

Communities in Schools of Chicago is a dropout prevention organization with a mission to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
“I attended Bogan HS… I Wasn’t sure of what I wanted to do after high school. I attended Kennedy King College where I graduated with my AA,” said Pruitt.
CIS connects schools with needed programs and services. Phoenix is proud to have Gregory Pruitt coach students to encourage them to stay in school.
“My mission is to bring strong male mentoring to PMA as well as one on one therapist for students who need to talk to someone,” said Pruitt.
CIS began working in Chicago in 1988 and has a rich history of serving more than 900,000 Chicago students in total. CIS has integrated student supports that include, arts enrichment, health and wellness, behavioral and mental health, and college and career readiness.
“I received a scholarship to Barry University in Miami, FL where I obtained my Masters in Social Work and coach girls volleyball at Olive Harvey College,” said Pruitt.
