Lil Yachty’s original debut album Lil Boat in 2016 brought a very colorful, and lightly auto-tuned album. The second album, Lil Boat 2, seemed to be a little different though. Lil Yachty attempted to make his new album more lyrical as he tries to be more creative with his rhymes.

This album features typical topics in the current rap game which is money, strong independent and beautiful women, and drugs. His attempts rhymes were average. Most of the songs he had in this album featured artists, such as, Ugly God, Lil Pump, Migos, Tee Grizzley, and Trippie Redd with a couple more featured artists.

On most songs, it seems that whoever was featured on the album carried Lil Yachty. The features Lil Yachty  added definitely made the album better, as with Lil Yachty by himself would make the album much worse. For example, in some of his best songs from the album, ‘Boom!”, and ‘66’ Lil Yachty was carried by Trippie Redd and Ugly God. This doesn’t mean that the album is bad. It is average, but a couple of his songs are what make this album stand out. The rest was just average and will be forgettable after listening to them a couple of times.

Lil Yachty is still a good rapper who fits well in today’s current rap game, and he still does put out good hits from time to time. As said before, this album doesn’t disappoint, but could be a little better.

This album gets 3 out of 5 stars.
