Impacting the Campaign Votes

What most don’t realize is that every vote and every voice counts within campaigns.

Some students are deciding to elect their candidates starting February 3, 2018 to better their communities.

For Chuy Garcia, the event took place at Pilsen on February 3, 2018, For Flynn Rush it took place uptown on February 24th, 2018 and for Delia Ramirez it went on from February 25th-28th, 2018.

“I am equally supportive of Jesus “Chuy” Garcia, Delia Ramirez, and Flynn Rush because their campaigns all show some support for immigrants. They want to keep families together and try to keep ICE out. They want to improve CPS schools and want to raise minimum wage. This is all very important,” said senior Odalis Torres.

“I am supporting Delia Ramirez because I believe that for the fourth district she will follow through with her plans of taking care of the community and putting money back in schools,” said senior Miguel Apreza.

All candidates have similar and/or different goals which is why some students found certain candidates more appealing than others . It all depends on who will benefit the people and communities the most.

They spoke for what they believed in and hoped to make a change. Their words could have influenced a couple of voters who attended those events because sometimes we have to look at things from a different perspective and that could definitely change our minds in the end.
