The Cloverfield Paradox

The Cloverfield Paradox is the third installment to the Cloverfield movie series that started way back in 2008. This film was released on Netflix shortly after the 52nd annual Super Bowl. The films story takes place in 2028 where the world is low on natural resources and could be at the verge of World War.
The movie on its own is well written and is pretty straight forward. The world is low on natural resources and needs to find an alternative source. A group of seven scientist/engineers test out and try to have a fully functional particle accelerator running. This team has been working on it for more than two years with no success. The space station has gone through many test runs, but this means they are consuming lots of fuel. The team is left with its last two attempts to bring clean and infinite energy to the world because of this shortage in fuel.
I won’t say more on the story, but you should know that this particle accelerator can pose a threat to mankind, and by that I mean it can rip apart the space time continuum which in simpler terms just means it can mess with two dimensions and cause havoc in both worlds.
Story wise The Cloverfield Paradox is quite odd. Cloverfield takes place during 2008, and The Cloverfield Paradox takes place in 2028, but the events that happened in The Cloverfield Paradox lead to what will happen in Cloverfield. I hope I didn’t lose you there.
In general the movie gets a solid 4/5. The story is great and the suspense keeps you at the edge of your seat. The character development might be vague for most of the supporting actors, but for our main character whom is played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw, is well developed. If you haven’t watched the previous Cloverfield movies you aren’t really missing out on much, but if you’re the type of person that wants to binge watch the movies I do suggest watching the rest of the films.
