Mrs. Flint

Mrs.+Flint

A new member to the Phoenix Firebird family has joined the sophomore team. This year the Phoenix staff welcomed Mrs.Flint,  who is teaching Writing Workshop to the sophomores.

Before Phoenix Military Academy Mrs.Flint worked at Maine South High School for 20 years. She taught English  I, II, and III, in addition to senior electives, reading support classes. She also  worked as a literacy coach to other teachers.

Since Mrs.Flint and her family live in the city, and her son attends a CPS school, she found it more  convenient to work in a CPS school while getting in touch with her city roots.

Mrs.Flint found out about Phoenix Military Academy from her former mentor for student teaching, who urged her to apply, and as one says the rest is history.

She currently is co-sponsoring National Honor Society (NHS) with Ms.Novak who is teaching the sophomore English II, while also helping out with the Drama club.

“I enjoy the small student body and sense of community I see in the school,” said Mrs.Flint

Mrs.Flint although very active in school also has a lot of hobbies, like music, reading and traveling. The Phoenix staff is proud to call her one of their own.
