Some people want it to happen, some wish it happens, and others make it happen. Junior VinQuan Randle has played on the boys basketball team at Phoenix since his freshman year. He decided that he should participate starting in his first year of high school to be involved right away. Since then the two years have flown by quickly.
“When I was 14 I decided that basketball was my primary sport,” said Randle.
His position on both JV and the Varsity team has been shooting guard. He has dedicated a lot of time to advancing and being able to play for both teams. He has never participated on other teams outside of school. He has been committed to the boys basketball team for two years already and plans on continuing his junior year.
“I like the Firebirds basketball team a lot but there is just one thing we need to work – on like communication,” said Randle.
The team has had a lot of journeys, on which they have done well. One was the Romeoville tournament which was an overnight trip where the team got to spent the night in a hotel.
“We lost two games and won two,” said Randle.
Randle looks forward to the next tryouts for this upcoming season.
