On December 19th, 2016 senior Mauricio Palacios and his family drove to Guanajuato, Mexico to visit family and friends for three weeks. Palacios had a long drive to Guanajuato because they decided to drive from Chicago to Mexico.  It took them two days and one night to get there.

“I arrived to my grandparent’s house after the long drive. I was pretty excited to see them since it’s been a while,” said Palacios.

Palacios’s highlight of the trip was the big parties that they would throw around his area.  He was able to spend quality time with his family and friends.

“I loved going to the big parties they would have big parties with bandas en el pueblo. I enjoyed the music and being able to dance and have fun,” said Palacios.

He also loved exploring the waterfalls in Guanajuato with his and his girlfriend’s family.

“Going to see the waterfalls with my family and my girl’s family was really fun because

we also spent a lot of time together,” said Palacios

Palacios visits Mexico at least once a year or sometimes more. Every year he always looks forward to this trip because he always makes the best out of it every time he goes.
