Old Man Logan Review

A barren wasteland ruled by super villains, all but a few handful heroes are dead. This is the premise for the first story line of the old man Logan comic line. This famous comic story has recently been adapted to a motion picture, but the movie varies from the source material. How much does it vary?

Well, in the comic’s story line it begins with seeing Logan with a family being pestered by the hulk gang, a family of inbred hulks (don’t ask), for a self imposed tax. Well, after meeting a blind hawkeye, Logan embarks on a journey to help the resistance in a last attempt to overthrow their evil overlords, by transporting the last bit of super soldier serum.

Throughout the journey and through some flashbacks we get to see what happened on the day the heroes were defeated, the aftermath of some battles, and what happened to some of the nicer villains, such as magneto who escaped with the mutants to his base on asteroid M. This story is heartbreaking with how bleak the future is and how many of the heroes have given up and many fan favorites names are being tarnished by gangs flying those very same colors.

This in my opinion is one of the best Wolverine comics out there. Instead of being the killing machine we all know we are met by a pacifist who is scared of using his claws, the reason of which is stated in the comic, and this also shows how good it is that all the villains don’t gang up. Overall, this is one of the best comic stories in recent years it’s no wonder the adapted it. The story is filled with a very impressive premise, a well developed plot, a wide variety of characters, and an amazing character development.

If I could I would give this 6 out of 5 stars, but since I can’t I’ll give it a 5 out of 5 stars.
