After School Matters brings a new program, Forensic Science, to PMA beginning on mid-February. It will bring many opportunities and experiences to many. After School Matters is a non-profit organization that has a variety of programs such as cooking, art, dancing, and even sculpturing glass. After School matters brings experiences that can enhance a student’s resume and get paid for learning.

For the past few years, the programs that Phoenix Military Academy has had are Advanced Art and Poetry. This program will be great for the school given that PMA now has a STEM-Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics-focus.

Now, what is Forensic Science?

Forensic Science is the application of science to criminal law. This is important because it is used for criminal investigation. For the people that want to be criminologists, Forensic chemists, Forensic botanists, Forensic toxicologists, then this new program is the fit.

“I am excited to gain a new experience and a lot of learning from this new program,” said sophomore Emilio Islas.

The program will take place during spring after school. If you did not get the opportunity to apply for spring, please take notice that you may still apply for summer 2017.
