The B96 Pepsi Jingle Bash took place on December 10, 2016 and seemed to be the highlight of the year, as various artist performed at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. With tickets ranging from 30 dollars to 175, the broadcasters had mentioned that the show was completely sold out and no chair in the arena was empty. As I walked into the arena I felt overwhelmed as teens and parents screamed over the performing artist. The energy seemed to take new heights as individuals sang to their favorite songs, and swayed with the rhythm of their favorite artist. This was a once in a lifetime experience to me since I was able to see my favorite artist up close: One Republic and Shawn Mendes.

As the night played on, the opening acts took center stage and produced an unbelievable energy. As Shawn Mendes made his appearance, the crowd went wild and everyone sang to their favorite hit: Stitches. Having over 1000 people sing along to Stitches was a powerful experience as the arena resonated with the echo of parents and their children. Similarly, One Republic seemed to mesmerize the crowd as they sang their unforgettable hit: Apologize. With the piano and vocals of Brent Kutzle, the arena once again powerfully resonated the heartfelt song that seemed to bring everyone together.

With appearances from Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, DNCE, G- Eazy, One Republic (and their amazing performance of Apologize), Fifth Harmony, Britney Spears, and finally the Chainsmokers. The night became a robust environment where everyone else’s energy resonated through the core. I’ll have to rate this event a 4 out 5, simply because of the confusing entrances of the arena and the lack of guidance which derives me from giving it a 5 out of 5.
