J. Cole- For your eyez only

Alejandro Pina

The long awaited album from J. Cole has finally dropped. “4 your eyez only” was released on December 9, 2016.  Cole’s last album was dropped in  “2014 Forest Hills Drive”. The album is enjoyable.

The album is telling a story about himself and his friend. The album talks about his relationship with a friend. They go through the same things, just parallel to each other, good and bad. The album is good, in my opinion, but has received lots of hate because of its small amount of songs and because of it only containing serene toned songs.

Coles album sold around 363,000 copies in its first week. “4 your eyez only” surpassed all his previous albums: Cole World – Sideline Story (218,000 copies), Born Sinner ( 297,000 copies) and Forest Hills Drive (353,000 copies) in the first week. It reached billboards top 40 on December 20, 2016. The release of his album was hyped up by  two singles “False prophets (2016)” and “Everybody dies (2016)” claiming to be talking bad about mumble rappers.

His album is available in Google Play music for $9.49  and in iTunes for $9.99. It can also be streamed in Pandora and downloaded in Spotify using Spotify premium.

The title of Cole’s album was inspired by TuPac’s (2Pac) “All eyez on me (1996)”  album.
