Senior Jose Gonzalez had the idea to host the first gaming tournament at Phoenix Military Academy.The gaming tournament is to help fundraise the Seattle journalism trip and help improve the yearbook.

“It’s going to help us fund our trip to Seattle for journalism,” said Gonzalez.

Gonzalez believes that having multiple gaming tournaments is going to raise enough money to go to Seattle for the Journalism convention. The first trip was beneficial when the Ms. Comeford took students to Indianapolis to help them learn new ways to improve the school yearbook and news website.

The FIFA tournament will be one of many tournaments that will help raise enough money for journalism expenses. Due to Chicago Public Schools not being able to fund enough money to schools, the school has to find different ways to help fundraise these expenses to help better the school and journalism.

“At least 15 and the most 25,” said Gonzalez.

Gonzalez believes that the FIFA tournament would attract about 15-25 students.
