Tom Clancy’s The Division, Is it For You?

By Emmanuel Ruiz

Tom Clancy’s The Division is an online-only, third-person shooter open world video game developed by Ubisoft Massive and published by Ubisoft. Something that many gamers, such as myself, enjoy is that the game allows players to create their own ‘build’ of character ranging from a tanky build(having lots of health but not as much damage) to a ‘glass-cannon’ build(outputting massive amounts of damage but not having much health). The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 8, 2016.

The Division allows character to add on to three major categories, health, damage,  and electronics(support). Players are able to work their way through story-mode with other online players or alone to collect new gear, which contributes to the the major categories. Once players have reached  a higher level, they are able to enter what is known as The Darkzone. Here, characters have the chance to group up with one another or fight against other online players for more valuable gear that can’t be found outside The Darkzone.

Some people may say that there are glitches to the game and/or that certain gear is overpowered but Ubisoft, the developer for the game, has done what they can to fix those issues. The Division frequently undergoes updates or ‘patches’ to fix these glitches. With Ubisoft frequently updating the game we see that the players enjoying the game is their number one priority.
Overall, I would give Tom Clancy’s The Division a 5 out of 5 because the game is highly enjoyable. Since the game allows players to build their own character to their preference, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone interested in playing video games.
