Finding Dory is the second movie to the original and famous Finding Nemo. The story is about one of the protagonists, Dory, who has short term memory loss, trying to remember where her family is and goes on a search to find her parents. This funny and beautifully animated film was directed by Andrew Stanton and Angus MacLane, and features voices like Ellen DeGeneres, Ed O’Neill, and Ty Burrell.
Throughout the movie, Dory gets flashbacks of the place she called home, and with these, she starts to remember her way back home. With the help of new characters that were not in the original first movie, Dory, Marlin ( Nemo’s father), and Nemo find her home; an aquarium. Despite her struggles, she eventually finds her parents and her home.
The movie might make you laugh and cry while seeing Dory traveling miles with her trusted best friend, and his son, to find home. Though the movie was very well made and is a perfect movie on it’s own, it did not live up to the hype. Even so, the movie did continue and explain some scenes from the original movie, making is a decent continuance to the epic original film.
If you are a fan of Finding Nemo and want to see the continuance, and find the missing pieces to the original movie, this is just the movie for you. I rate this movie 4.5 out of 5, as it is a wonderfully made movie, but just isn’t at the same level as Finding Nemo. It’s true what they say; the sequel is never as good as the original.
