Lesley Delgado is playing her last season of volleyball now that she’s a senior. She’s played for the Phoenix volleyball for three years now. She had an interest of playing volleyball before coming to Phoenix.

“Always wanted to play volleyball since middle school but didn’t have a team. I was excited when I found out Phoenix had a team and since then I tried out and been on the team,” said Delgado.

After three years of playing volleyball, she has prioritized what’s more important. Delgado has learned how to manage school and the life of a volleyball player. It was especially hard when she was a junior and had to worry about the ACT.

“I know that school comes first because if I don’t have good grades, I won’t be able to be in the volleyball team,” said Delgado.

Volleyball is not an easy sport. It take a lot of hard work and dedication. It comes with many challenges and difficult problems as expressed by Delgado.

“Trying to have positive energy during the game and have good communication with each every teammate,” said Delgado.

Even though volleyball is a team sport, Delgado has some individual goals she hopes to achieve to improve her skills.

“Being able to improve my skills and finish the season in a positive way and finish my last game with a win,” said  Delgado.
At the end of the day, Delgado enjoys playing volleyball and making new friends.
