The Posse Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships in the country and is awarded to only the best students. Phoenix Military Academy has had numerous Posse cholars over the last couple of years and this year there are three students that were nominated.

Senior Selvyn Martinez, is one of them and was accepted to Middlebury College in Vermont. He will receive full tuition for his entire four years and will make life much easier for him.  

“I was very excited to find out that I received Posse, It was like a dream come true because I had made my family proud,” said Martinez.

Coming from Honduras as a young child, Martinez has had to work hard in life to get where he is going, but he is very motivated and nothing will get in his way.

“I always give one hundred percent in anything I do because I am grateful for all the opportunities that have been presented to me, and hope to become successful in my future in order to take care of my family,” said Martinez.

The process of obtaining the Posse Scholarship was not easy, but Martinez overcame the odds and will be forever recognized as a Posse scholar.
