Cobalt Gives a unique shooter experience

Cobalt is an action-oriented side-scrolling video game developed by Oxeye Game Studios. It is published by Mojang, widely known for creating the popular game Minecraft, and also published by Microsoft Studios. It was released on Microsoft Windows, the Xbox 360, and the Xbox One on February 2nd, 2016. The game has reached its last stage of development after going through the alpha and beta and finalized at what is called the Gold stage.

Cobalt is mainly an singleplayer game, but you are able to able to ride through the game on online multiplayer with friends if you prefer to. Cobalt has a set of several game modes including Deathmatch, Capture the Plug, Team Strike, Survival, and Bounty. The video game is soon to be updated with a new game mode called Adventure mode. Players are also able to create their own maps for other players to try out with the map-editor.

The Cobalt video game is at a glance a basic 2D side-scrolling shooter, but gets more technical as soon as you dive in. The engine used to create gets in-depth with its complex system and use of weapons and fighting network. For such a 2D game, the game brings a physical experience to you with the environment and when it takes time and precision to kill an enemy spot on.

It is a favorable game with it’s terrible humor and good shooting mechanics. I can say I underestimated how good the game can be. It’s cool to know that you can tackle an assignment many of ways, it brings the tactical side to the game. I recommend to follow mainly the story mode as the quests can be interesting and fun if also done with a friend.

Overall, I give this game 4 out of 5 stars because of its variety during the gameplay, but it more features can be added as in game modes as the original ones can get old as they are similar to each other in some ways.
