Leicester City: From Relegation Survivors to Title Competitors

It was May 24, 2015 and Leicester City found themselves going against Queens Park Rangers. It was the last game of the season and Leicester City wanted to end the 2014-15 season with a victory. It was lost after lost and they barely managed any wins. In the end they managed to stay up and were 6 points from relegation. They ended up winning the game 5-1 and ended the tournament in good spirits.

“Last year Leicester City didn’t get anywhere and I really thought they were going to get relegated,” says Junior Jonathan Muros

Coming into the 2015/16 season, nobody expected Leicester City to be title contenders. In fact, many predicted that they would end up being relegated this season.

Leicester City started the season with a victory and continued throughout the whole campaign positively. They have only managed 2 loses throughout the season to date. Leicester City shocked everyone as they even managed to be at the top of the table. But not everyone believes they’ll continue their good form.

“They may be top of the table right now but it won’t last, the pressure will get to them,” said Junior David Marroquin

One of the main reasons Leicester City has managed to stay at the top of the table is because of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez. Both have played a huge role for Leicester City and have come as huge surprises this season. Jamie Vardy even broke the record of most goals scored consecutively. If Leicester City can keep both players at the club this season they may even end up being in the top 4.
