Using player from the previous season and the current one fans were able to voice their opinion on who they thought had the best year of professional soccer. The list was made up of 11 players using a 4-3-3 formation to choose the players.

Every year the team the majority of players chosen for this team come from only a handful of teams mainly from Europe’s giants, and this year was no different.

After having a historic year and arguably the best front three in football history it was no surprise that FC Barcelona made up almost half of the team selected, receiving 5 out of the 11 player selected.

Barcelona’s team was made up of obvious superstars like frontmen Messi and Neymar who received the majority of the votes. Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique, and Dani Alves were also chosen to be on the team from Barcelona.

The next team to contribute a lot of their players to the best 11 was Real Madrid who 3 total players in every outfield position. They had the expected likes of Cristiano Ronaldo who is the current all-time scorer in the competition, alongside with newcomer James Rodriguez, and team captain Sergio Ramos.

FC Bayern Munich had the pleasure of having two of their players make the prestigious team, Manuel Neuer was given the position of goalkeeper, who arguably the best goalkeeper in the world. David Alaba was given the fourth position at defender for his terrific versatility and wonderful season.

Last in the list was Juventus who made the spectacular run for the final but somehow only had one player chosen to be on the team. Paul Pogba was given the honor of being the only player from his team to be in the 11. Paul Pogba had quite the season after taking control of the midfield he sparked a fire in Juventus who previously was only feared in Italy. Showing the world that was world class he brought respect back to the once great team of Juventus.

Overall this team has some of the best players in the world only 5 players from the previous team of the year made it to this list once again. With many young players making their mark on the game like Pogba and Neymar, it will be interesting to see how these players will perform this season and how they next team of the year will turn out to be.
