Thirteen Reasons Why

Thirteen Reasons Why

Most teenagers can identify with the phases of getting older. Jay Asher does a great job portraying the fact that everything we do has consequences. The book “Thirteen Reasons Why” focuses on the more cruel experiences of high school for some, bullying, drinking, rumors, and suicide. It focuses on the domino effect leading up to the main character’s suicide, Hannah Baker. She recorded tapes that have to be passed on to every person that contributed to her suicide. Clay Jensen the actual main character has received the tapes and steals a walk man and travels all over the town visiting places mentioned.

The setup of the book was a bit confusing because Hannah, who is dead, narrates with Italic font, then there are no italics for Clay’s narrations. Other than that, it was a great set up.
