Game one of the NBA finals took place on Thursday June 2nd, 2016 at Oracle Arena. A rematch from last years NBA final, include the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Many people knew the talent in the series was very high, but the Golden State Warriors were able to win due to an unexpected cast.

The headlines for the finals include the big three from both teams which are made up of Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, and LeBron James from Cleveland. On the other team they have Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and the reigning MVP Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors. Although the stars for the Cavaliers had great games, it was the Warriors bench team that ultimately got them the victory.

Both Thompson and Curry combined for a total of 20 points, which on any other day would have resulted in their team being defeated. It was the terrific play from Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston that carried their team. They both combined for 32 points, a strike that seemed too much for the Cavs to handle.

Golden State Warriors defense was turned up to a new level which seemed to surprise the Cavaliers. The Warriors got a total of 9 steals throughout the games and forced Cleveland to commit 15 turnovers. The results of the games left people very surprised because if Thompson and Curry had off nights and still managed to win, imagine when they are on fire and can’t seem to miss.

We all know that a series isn’t over till it’s over and with all the pressure that is on LeBron James to deliver a championship to Cleveland, he is going to give all he has. The series will resume on Sunday June 5th at Oracle Arena, which will prove to be a very crucial game. If the Warriors manage to win they will head to Cleveland for games 3 and 4 up 2-0 in the series, and for some people they will say the series is already over.
