When someone suggest, “Hey let’s go to McDonald’s,” one generally assumes that they’re going to get some burgers. However, this has changed as McDonald’s has decided to add mozzarella sticks to their menu.
McDonald’s started off as a small business founded by Mac and Dick McDonald. In 1954, Ray Kroc pitched an idea of expanding the restaurant over the United States, and shortly after, in 1955, Kroc and the McDonald brothers founded McDonald’s System Inc. Since then the company has grown to the multimillion dollar company everyone knows today.
However, McDonald’s has always tried more than just burgers. This includes an assortment of breakfast platters and pastries, such as hotcakes and pies. McDonald’s is always adding new things to their menu that will make them stand out in the fast food industry. This time it’s mozzarella bread sticks.
The mozzarella bread sticks come in an assortment of 3 with marinara sauce and costs $1 not including taxes. The sticks include real mozzarella cheese wrapped in wheat flour bread that has garlic, onion, and salt. The serving is estimated to have 200 calories, 10 grams of fat, and 560 mg of sodium.
As for the taste, the taste is good. The bread is evenly fried so that when you take your first bite it makes a satisfying crunch. However, if you don’t like the taste of garlic and onion I wouldn’t recommend you get them because they often come a little loaded with the seasoning.
The cheese is really stringy and pulls apart nicely, and when you break the mozzarella stick and pull it apart the cheese doesn’t break as easy. Its safe to say that there is enough cheese inside of the stick.
The only thing that I recommend when eating the sticks is to eat them with the marinara sauce they provide. The sauce isn’t anything special, but it completes the overall balance and the taste.
McDonald’s has made another hit with these mozzarella sticks. If you have a dollar and some extra cents for tax I would recommend you go and buy an order. The sticks are a good snack.
With its good taste and nicely rationed cheese the sticks get a four star rating out of five.
